Alright, I'm second lowest then XD.

My character's Darius (no last name, he hates using it as it ties him to his hometown which he forsook to become a monk). He's a monk, short-black-haired and wears a headband, a sleeveless monk's shirt with a belt and a shoulder-belt, and a pair of loose monk's pants.

Weapon: Fists

I could probably use some sort of guide to playing bards. I've only played as a wizard before, and that was only once. xp

Here's how you play a bard: Use your songs. Also, your spells when they're useful. Every ability is conditional and you'll be able to figure out what to use when it's time.

I was just skimming the sudden three pages of text that appeared, but here's my mass reply.

1) Hey, Drake, 'sup.

2) As soon as we set up how characters will be created, compose all the House rules, and stuff like that, we can start focusing on the game itself.

3) I know we want a balanced team, but I don't want people playing classes that they didn't really "want". I'm perfectly fine with having multiples of classes in the party. Honestly, don't you think it'll be a bit interesting to have to work around the party we have to be successful? Smile

4) If I end up DM-ing, it will be FIRST time being a DM (Furthermore, I've only been playing D&D for a few weeks), and I'll have the DM Guide next to me the entire time. I guarantee you that gameplay will be a bit slow as I figure out what I'm doing. But I'm confident that I /could/ do it if no one else feels they can.

Of the 5 of us, I'm probably the most qualified (I have an excellent understanding of the rules and I might be the one who has been playing the longest) but least capable (I'm no good at making dungeons, coming up with plots, or actually running the game. I'm better as a party member/leader).

We'll see what we end up doing. but I'm definitely being a Monk, and David can be a cleric, that's actually better than my suggestion.

Okay, best idea. I'm the most knowledgable but I'm no good at actual DMing. So how about Ian DMs, but if he ever has any issues or questions I can answer them. I know the game really well.

I got you covered. Should be easy.

And yeah, you're the oldest, unless Alex joins as he's 21. But he'd probably end up DMing because he's the only one who's done this longer than me.

speaking of help, we should all get each other's skype or get on IRC together... forum-based posting will get annoying when trying to create a character... >.>

Is he willing to DM? we don't have anyone both willing AND capable of DMing, just one or the other. or neither.

I'd be the best DM if we already had the whole campaign and monsters and such written out. I can run the game but I can't run the storyline.

That's why I'm an excellent PC leader.

Atreus - if you think you can DM well, then go for it. Smile

This means that you'll be the one making the final calls on how we develop characters, what money we get, etc. etc.

i can create a good story, and i'm decent with actually running it, i'm just bad with keeping schedule... tis part of the reason why my game died down, i only managed to dm once every month or so as opposed to the scheduled once-a-week.

Well, we'll figure out the schedule with this one, but since it's online we should have a good amount of time to use.
